Blend of Temp, Merlot, Cab S, Shiraz & Grenache. 12 mths in oak adds a slight vanilla and actually gives it balance ! Nice drink for < €10 - Aldi store wine.
It has deep ruby colour with a peppery aroma. This big (14,5%) wine from the southern Rhone, tastes like ripe plum with less spice than I anticipated though. It is elegant with soft tannins
Cab Sauvignon dominates the merlot in this blend. Strong in tannins and has good structure.
From Graves, it gives a usual earthy bouquet with a hint of vanilla. Still tannic and has good length probably because of this. Probably needs beef rather than turkey so this won't be the Christmas red at the table.
Has the good balance of a typical classico superiore, ripasso. Light in taste & colour. Not a lot of fruit on the palate but has a high alcoholic content at 13.5%. I like this as a nice quaffing wine watching a film at home.
From the Domaine Rodet, this is 100% Pinot Noir. Light in colour and on the palate. I think it has good length, excellent structure & represents everything that's lovable about this varietal and region.
This McLaren Vale is an organic wine. It is a v big, oak filled fruit with a hint of vanilla. Fine length with a good plum colour.
From the 'Terrasses du Larzac in Coteaux du Languedoc this wine has a bouquet full of burnt fruit. I think of raisins bordering on chocolate overtones on the palate. Good colour with a reasonable structure. A little too fruity for my taste though ....
Sydney Cove - Shiraz Cabernet blend - nice spicy characteristics with ripe berry fruits. It's a big 13.5% alcohol with good length actually.
90% Merlot, 10% Cab.
A blend of 60% merlot, 20% Cab Sauv, 20% Cab Franc.
Clean floral nose, mineral nuances with a lemon finish.
